A meme (/ˈmiːm/ MEEM) [ Richard Dawkins ] is "an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture". A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols, or practices that can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals, or other imitable phenomena with a mimicked theme. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate, and respond to selective pressures."
meme art workshop is dedicated to the idea that this transference of ideas can take a multitude of shapes, sound, writing, speech, gestures, rituals. this idea has been pulled from the back burner now for a number reasons, including the death of some of my iconic mentoring artists, my own sense of mortality, and the final rise of the dinosaur culture of bloated male hubris as evidenced by the new US administration. so..................now is the time for all thoughtful hardworking artists to get on the stick. create, dream, challenge and inject the most regressive parts of our reptilian brain with a viral and creative love, make the effort................in what ever way we can.
